Extrme Makeover: Home Edition goes Green.

Christopherson Wood Floors was selected to install the flooring at the "Chapin Home" in Kirkland WA. The home was constructed in 4 days completing on October 3rd, 2007. Although the ABC prime time TV show has been moving to more "green" products in their amazing one week builds, this is supposed to be the first "5 star Built Green"  Home. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is aired on ABC Sunday night at 8pm/7pm central. This eposode was on December 16th, 2007. 

"We installed nearly 3,000 square feet of flooring in one night"   Although Christopherson Wood Floors was the primary flooring contractor, many other local contractors helped out. "It was a huge effort, at the start of the flooring installation about 20 of us walked into the home to find over 70 other tradesmen working inside of the home as well. The numbers dropped off about 4am and when we finished around 6 am there were only about 8 of us working on the floor and stairway and about 10 other tradesmen".

Mark Christopherson is shown here installing reclaimed timbers as flooring. This is the highest level of "Green" as we are simply using a product that was part of a building that was being dismantled. We recommend a "GREENGUARD Certified" floor finish such as Bona Traffic waterbased finish.
